COMPUTER SCIENCE PROGRAM

The Computer Science program is intended for students who wish to pursue a post-secondary education in computer engineering. The course load offers students an opportunity to explore algorithms, design, and debugging through AP courses.

Due to the focus on computer science programs, students in this program will not have as much flexibility in choosing elective classes when making their schedules.

Required Classes

All CAMS students must complete the following courses in addition to all Cooper Graduation requirements:

  • Algebra 2 Honors
  • Geometry Honors
  • Advanced Pre-Calculus
  • AP Calculus BC
  • Capstone Mathematics Courses

o    One of the capstone courses will be a dual credit class and require a tuition payment to the offering university.

  • Chemistry Honors
  • AP Chemistry
  • AP Biology
  • AP Physics C: Mechanics
  • Foreign Language (2 years)

Computer Programming Required Classes

  • Digital Literacy
  • AP Computer Science Principles
  • AP Computer Science A
  • Java Programming 2
